HELSINKI -- With all ballots counted, Finnish incumbent president Sauli Niinisto was re-elected in Sunday's presidential election.

Niinisto won 62.7 percent of the votes. He said he was surprised to see the landslide victory. (Finland-Election)

PARIS -- The Seine river, which runs through Paris, kept rising on Sunday and had led to the evacuation of about 1,500 people in Ile-de-France region including the French capital and surrounding zones, according to Paris police.

Water level remained at a high level in the Paris region where 240 communes remained on alert of flooding. About 1,500 citizens were called to leave their homes, said Michel Delpuech, chief of the Paris police body. (France-Floods)

JERUSALEM -- U.S. special Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt on Sunday took a tour near the fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip, and called on Hamas to stop "to attack Israel."

The tour, guided by senior Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officers, included a visit inside a cross-border tunnel, dug by Hamas, the organization that runs Gaza. The tunnel was recently exposed by the Israeli military. (Israel-Gaza)

ADDIS ABABA -- Six African countries on Sunday won awards for remarkable achievements against malaria, as the continent is endeavoring towards a malaria-free Africa by 2030.
