RAMADI, Iraq -- Eight people were killed mistakenly and 10 wounded Saturday when a U.S. and Iraqi joint force clashed with local police and paramilitary tribal fighters in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial security source said.

The incident took place after midnight when a U.S. and Iraqi joint force raided a house of a terrorist suspect in the town of al-Baghdadi, some 190 km northwest of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, Captain Mohammed al-Dulaimi from the provincial police told Xinhua. (Iraq-U.S.-Clash)

ANKARA -- Turkey confirmed Saturday that the United States would no longer provide the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing People's Protection Units (YPG) with weapons in Syria.

Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin and U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster agreed on the move in a phone call Friday evening, said the Turkish presidency in a statement. (Turkey-U.S.-Syrian Kurds)

DAMASCUS -- The week-long Turkish military campaign against the Kurdish-held Afrin enclave in northern Syria has killed and wounded 286 civilians, state news agency SANA reported Saturday.

The attacks on Afrin and its countryside in the northern countryside of Aleppo province killed 86 civilians and wounded 200 others, SANA said. (Syria-Turkey-Afrin)

ADEN, Yemen -- The Saudi-backed Yemeni government vowed on Saturday to prevent anti-corruption demonstrations planned to be organized by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the southern port city of Aden.
