Ukraine to set up chopper unit for emergencies

KIEV, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine will set up a special helicopter unit to deal with emergencies, the Interior Ministry announced Friday.

The helicopter emergency response service, jointly developed by Ukrainian and French experts, will comprise about 55 helicopters, to be delivered by Airbus, and will cover all regions across the country.

The helicopter squads will assist the government in providing a quick response to natural and man-made disasters, criminal challenges and medical emergencies, as well as support national security work. Enditem
