Police in Indian-controlled Kashmir detains woman suspected to be suicide bomber

NEW DELHI, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Police in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir have detained a young woman suspected to be a suicide bomber, India's official broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) said Friday.

The woman hailing from western India state of Maharashtra's Pune city was detained by police on Thursday night as a suspected suicide bomber, the broadcaster said.

On Wednesday evening, police issued an advisory warning that it has information about a woman suspect intending to carry out a suicide bombing on the eve of Indian Republic Day celebrations in the region. Enditem
