Nigerian army arrests 11 suspects over missing soldier in NE state

LAGOS, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian Army Thursday said 11 suspects have been arrested in connection with a missing soldier in Opallo village of restive northeast Adamawa State.

Brig. Gen. Bello Mohammed, the Brigade Commander in charge of 23rd Amour Brigade, told reporters in Yola, the state capital that among those arrested was a district head.

Mohammed said a military search team is already working in the area to trace the missing soldier.

Meanwhile, residents are fleeing Opallo village out of fear, alleging that part of the village has been set ablaze by soldiers. Enditem
