French shares drop 0.25 pct on Thursday

PARIS, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.25 percent, or 13.95 points, to close at 5,481.21 points.

Altogether, 25 of the 40 selected large companies lost in the day.

European multinational aerospace and defense corporation Airbus Group tumbled 2.76 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Oil and gas firm Technipfmc was down 2.70 percent. French multinational mass media conglomerate Vivendi edged down 1.57 percent.

French banking giant BNP PARIBAS advanced 1.22 percent, the top gainer of the day. Credit Agricole, a French network of cooperative and mutual banks gained 1.01 percent, while another French banking giant Societe General was also up 1.01 percent. Enditem
