Dollar changes hands in lower 109 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Thursday, after falling below below the 109 yen line at one point overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.32-33 yen compared with 109.17-27 yen in New York and 109.95-96 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2394-2395 dollars and 135.49-53 yen against 1.2404-2414 dollars and 135.47-57 yen in New York and 1.2311-2313 dollars and 135.36-40 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
