U.S. stocks close mixed after record highs

NEW YORK, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday after hitting all-time highs earlier in the session.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 41.38 points, or 0.16 percent, to 26,252.19. The S&P 500 decreased 1.57 points, or 0.06 percent, to 2,837.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 45.23 points, or 0.61 percent, to 7,415.06.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq declined as shares of Apple fell 1.6 percent on Wednesday as analysts predicted that iPhone sales growth could be weak this spring. Shares of Facebook, Amazon and Alphabet also traded lower on Wednesday.
All three indices touched record highs in the morning session as corporate earnings reports came out overall positive. United Technologies, Baker Hughes and NBC Universal-parent company Comcast all reported earnings and revenue that beat analyst expectations.
As of Wednesday, 77 percent of the S&P 500 companies that had reported surpassed earnings expectations, while 80 percent of those companies had beaten sales estimates, according to U.S. financial information company FactSet. Enditem
