Spanish shares drop 0.44 pct Wednesday

MADRID, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 0.44 percent or 46.50 points, to 10,563 points.

A total of 28 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Renewable energy company Siemens Gamesa lost 2.47 percent, being the top loser of the session, followed by hotel chain Melia Hotels and consultancy and technology company Indra A that fell 1.70 percent and 1.39 percent respectively.

Engineering and infrastructure company Tecnicas Reunidas gained 0.69 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Spain's energy company Iberdrola went up 0.33 percent and Spain's fifth largest bank Bankia rose 0.19 percent respectively. Enditem
