1st LD: 1 killed in Turkey's border city Kilis by rockets from Syria

ANKARA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and 13 others wounded after two rockets launched from Syria's Afrin hit Turkey's border city of Kilis on Wednesday, the province governor said.

"The first rockets hit a mosque during prayers. Some of the victims have life-threatening injuries," Governor Mehmet Tekinarslan said on NTV television.

The second rocket hit a residential house 100 meters from the mosque, and at least five people were affected by the smoke, the governor said. Enditem
