German shares lose 1.07 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 144.86 points, or 1.07 percent, to close at 13,414.74 points.

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.93 percent, followed by energy group RWE and E.ON, which lost 3.31 percent and 2.50 percent respectively.

Deutsche Boerse group, Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank were the top three winners, rising 2.21 perccent, 0.54 percent and 0.15 percent respectively.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 403.36 million euros (498.60 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
