TRIPOLI, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Tripoli-based Libyan Higher Council of State postponed a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank and the head of the Audit Bureau on security grounds.

"A meeting was supposed to be held to listen to Al-Seddiq Al-Kabir, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, and Khalid Shakshak, head of the Audit Bureau, to find out the causes of the country's financial and economic problems and their plans to face this crises," Council Member Ali Swayeh told Xinhua on Wednesday.

"We were surprised a few minutes before the beginning of the meeting, as everyone was waiting the Head of the Council Abdurrahman Swehli, that the meeting was postponed to next week for security reasons," Swayeh added.

"There were no clear signs of danger in holding the session, as circumstances were normal and smooth," Swayeh said regarding the reasons for postponing the meeting, adding that he and the other members in the meeting were not aware of any clear reasons for the postponement.

The postponement of the session was announced a day after a deadly double car bomb attacks in the eastern city of Benghazi, killing and injuring dozens of civilians. Enditem
