Dollar falls to 109 yen zone on slide in U.S. yields

TOKYO, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell to the upper 109 yen zone Wednesday in Tokyo on a slide in U.S. Treasury yields.

The dollar was quoted at 109.95-96 yen at 5 p.m. local time Wednesday in Tokyo, compared with 110.25-35 yen in New York and 110.97-99 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Tuesday. It changed between 109.81 yen and 110.33 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2311-2313 dollars and 135.36-40 yen against 1.2294-2304 dollars and 135.56-66 yen in New York and 1.2252-2253 dollars and 135.96-136.00 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon. Enditem
