Man with knife shot by police at Belgian railway station

BRUSSELS, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- A man armed with a knife was shot by police at a railway station in western Belgian city of Ghent on Tuesday, local media reported.

The main entrance of the Ghent-Saint-Pierre station was closed, reported local newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.

No further details are available so far.

The incident came a day after Belgium downgraded its national threat level on Monday. Enditem
