German shares gain 0.71 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 95.91 points, or 0.71 percent, to close at 13,559.60 points.

Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.16 percent. Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and European health care company Fresenius SE rose by 2.95 percent and 2.73 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical firm Linde lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 0.90 percent. Commerzbank and European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 down by 0.80 percent and 0.79 percent respectively.

Bayer was the most-traded share with a turnover of 481.33 million euros (589.58 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
