SKOPJE, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia will continue construction and reconstruction of the road infrastructure in order to stimulate economic growth and development, the Macedonian transport ministry said Tuesday in a statement.

The Macedonian government had approved the 2018 program for construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation and maintenance of state roads of the Public State Roads Enterprise, it said.

"Investments envisaged in the 2018 program are estimated at MKD 16.7 billion or 334.7 million U.S. dollars," the statement said.

Projects to be financed include resumption of ongoing projects for the construction of the Kicevo-Ohrid highway and the highway linking Miladinovci-Stip with finances provided by Exim Bank as well as projects on roads with loans from the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
