German shares gain 0.22 pct on Monday

FRANKFURT, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 29.24 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 13,463.69 points.

Deutsche Bank won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.18 percent. German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 2.77 percent and 2.62 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical firm Linde lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.52 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and housing association Vonovia went down 1.42 percent and 1.37 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 329.58 million euros (403.37 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
