Taiwan's unemployment rate down in December

TAIPEI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's unemployment rate dropped slightly to 3.66 percent in December on the back of economic recovery, the island's statistics agency said Monday.

The jobless rate was 0.05 percentage points lower month on month, according to the agency.

In 2017, Taiwan's unemployment rate stood at 3.76 percent, the lowest since 2000, and 0.16 percentage points lower than 2016.

There were around 433,000 unemployed people in Taiwan in December, 6,000 less than November, and 11.4 million people in jobs. Enditem
