Dollar stays in upper 110 yen zone ahead of U.S. Senate vote on spending bill

TOKYO, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stayed in the upper 110 yen zone Monday in Tokyo ahead of a U.S. Senate vote on a spending bill.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 110.78-79 yen compared with 110.79-89 yen in New York and 110.69-70 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. It moved between 110.51 yen and 110.92 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2238-2239 dollars and 135.58-62 yen against 1.2219-2229 dollars and 135.46-56 yen in New York and 1.2271-2272 dollars and 135.83-87 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon. Enditem
