TRIPOLI -- The Libyan Special Deterrent Force arrested 61 militants involved in the recent attack on Tripoli's M'etiga International Airport, said the force in a statement on Sunday.

"During the treacherous attack on M'etiga airport and the attempt to target the prison, 61 people were arrested, most of whom were caught carrying arms and taking part in the attack on the airport," said the statement. (Libya-Arrest-Airport Attack)

DAMASCUS -- At least 18 civilians have been killed in the Turkish military campaign against Syria's Kurdish-held Afrin enclave in northern Syria, a monitor group reported Sunday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the deaths occurred in Afrin and surrounding villages, as Turkey started its offensive on Saturday by airstrikes and shelling and commenced its ground incursion on Sunday to drive out the Kurdish forces from border areas between Syria and Turkey. BONN -- Delegates from Germany's center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) on Sunday voted in favor of formal coalition talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel-led Conservatives Union.

Among over 600 delegates attending the special congress in Bonn, 362 voted "yes" to further coalition talks with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party Christian Social Union (CSU), while a total of 279 voted against it. (Germany-SPD-Coalition Talks)

KABUL -- At least 18 people have been killed, including 14 foreign nationals, in a deadly attack on the Intercontinental hotel in Afghanistan's capital Kabul, a spokesman of the Afghan Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
