ANKARA, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- A Syrian national was killed when three rockets hit Turkey's southeastern town of Reyhanli on the Syrian border Sunday, private broadcaster NTV reported.

Thirty-two others were wounded in the attacks, of whom two are in critical conditions, said Huseyin Sanverdi, Mayor of Reyhanli in a televised interview with NTV.

Security personnel have been dispatched to the area, the mayor said.

On the same day, four rockets hit Kilis city in southeast Turkey, injuring one person and damaging several buildings.

Turkish forces on Saturday began a major new operation aimed at ousting the Peoples' Protection Units (YPG) Kurdish militia from Syria's Afrin, pounding dozens of targets from the sky in air raids and with artillery.

Turkish land troops have also entered the territory of Syria's Afrin at 11:05 a.m. local time (0805 GMT) on Sunday. Enditem
