Boy walking on track disrupts Shinkansen service in Japan

TOKYO, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- A boy was found walking on tracks of a Shinkansen line in western Japan Saturday, causing up to a 90-minute delay to train services, local media reported.

The boy, likely an elementary student, appeared to have entered into the Shinkansen tracks at Okayama station around 4:40 p.m. local time, according to the West Japan Railway Co..

He was found about an hour later around 4 kilometers east of the station and taken to protective custody, according to the railway company.

The Shinkansen train services between Osaka and Hiroshima were disrupted and delayed for up to 90 minutes due to the incident, according to the company. Enditem
