Profit taking shaves gains off JSE

JOHANNESBURG, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) closed a little lower on Friday as profit taking shaved gains off.
The all share index was off 0.02 percent to 60,912.88 points at close of the trading session, while the blue chip-top 40 index added 0.09 percent to close at 54,058.74 points.
All the major indices closed in the green with the Industrials index gaining 0.4 percent while the resources index managed to close up 0.71 percent.
On the other hand, retailers and banks were weaker, after profit-taking in the short term. Retailers lost 1.15 percent, while banks slumped 2.51 percent. Enditem
