LUSAKA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- The Italian government has expressed interest to help Zambia boost the growth of the agriculture sector and create employment.

Italian Ambassador to Zambia Filippo Scammacca said his country has managed to create jobs for its citizens through the development of the agriculture sector and would like to share its experiences with Zambia. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambia's tax agency said about 270,000 people with bank accounts registered for Taxpayers Identification Number (TPIN) throughout the country last year.

Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) corporate communications manager Topys Sikalinda said the agency had targeted to capture about 87,000 account holders in 2017 but there was a large percentage increase and attributed this to sensitization. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government has approved trials of an HIV vaccine to be undertaken by the Center for Infectious Disease Research.

Moonde Muyoyeta, principal research investigator of the research body, said the exercise was approved by the Ministry of Health and other medical boards and was expected to be undertaken across the country with over 360 volunteers. (Daily Nation)

-- China Nonferrous Mining Corporation has announced plans to open a mine in Zambia's Luanshya town in the Copperbelt Province, which was placed on care and maintenance.

Wang Jingjun, deputy chief executive officer of Luanshya Copper Mine, said the Baluba Mine will be reopened this year, with 13 million U.S. dollars set aside for the exercise. (The Mast) Enditem
