PYONGYANG -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has accused the United States of plotting to provoke another Korean War by convening a foreign ministers' meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

"The United States, in collusion with Canada, created the scene of war simulation by summoning the foreign ministers' meeting of the countries participated in the Korean War," said a spokesman of the Institute for American Studies of DPRK Foreign Ministry in a statement late Thursday, according to the Korean Central News Agency. WASHINGTON -- U.S. State Department said Thursday that the United States and South Korea held a meeting here on Wednesday to discuss cooperation and consultation on deterrence strategies.

During the second meeting of the Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group, the two sides discussed issues including coordination on the "maximum pressure" campaign against Pyongyang. (US-S. Korea-DPRK)

ANKARA -- A bus carrying passengers turned over and fell into a frozen stream in Turkey's eastern Mus province on Friday, leaving six killed and 24 injured.

According to private Dogan Agency, the accident happened at 8 a.m. on the Mus-Solhan highway after the driver lost control of the bus. (Turkey-Accident-Death)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least two civilians were killed and four others wounded Friday morning after troops of Indian and Pakistan targeted each other's positions and civilian areas on the International Border in Kashmir in violation of cease-fire agreement for the second straight day, officials said.

The exchange of fire took place at R S Pora, Arnia, Chadwal and Ramgarh sectors along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts. (India-Kashmir-Firing) Enditem
