Big blast at Manchester factory causes road closure

LONDON, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Firefighters and police were responding to the report of a huge explosion at a factory in Manchester on Wednesday night, local media reported.

The blast, heard by residents in Littleborough, near Rochdale, was believed to have happened at about 7:30 p.m.

It has caused road closures as motorists and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area.

There are currently no reports of casualties and damage. Enditem
