KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwait Aviation Show 2018 kicked off on Wednesday at Kuwait International Airport with participants from over 125 local and international civil and military aviation companies.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the airshow, Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, the chairman of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait, said the show will feature planes for commercial use, business people, air ambulances and helicopters, in addition to engines and navigation equipment.

The four-day event aims to allow Kuwait to become a top competitor in the Middle East's aviation sector through attracting foreign investors, he said.

Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said the airshow is a step closer towards transforming Kuwait into an economic and financial hub. Enditem
