Indonesia shuttlers eye 4 gold medals in Asian Games

JAKARTA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian badminton team has set a target of four gold medals in the 18th Asian Games in the country this year.

Head of Indonesian badminton team Sayffrudin said on Wednesday that he wants the number of gold medal to be secured will be four, more than the initial target of 3 gold medals.

"This expectation will pave Indonesia to go into the target of top ten," he said in training center in East Jakarta.

Syaffrudin stressed that the focus of the country's badminton players now is practice to create better skill and capability for a better achievement in the regional sport event.

"Now is the time for us to concentrate on creating achievement," he said.

Indonesia has set a target of among the top ten in the Asian Games with at least 20 gold medals.

The country's badminton team won 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the 17th Asian Games in Inchion of South Korea. Enditem
