India's Sensex hits 35,000 new high

NEW DELHI, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- India's Sensex Wednesday crossed the 35,000 mark, local media said.

"The markets continued its record-breaking spree in the New Year and the Sensex hit the 35,000 milestone today," a local news channel NDTV said.

The benchmark index rose over 200 points to a fresh high of 35,002.78 while the Nifty surged to 10,761 at day's high. Enditem
