NAIROBI, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenya's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Kenyan opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals on Monday agreed to retain parliamentary leadership as currently constituted.

The four leaders also agreed to push on with the planned swearing in of NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka. The leaders further agreed to push for dialogue with ruling party Jubilee over electoral injustice and expanding the executive after constitutional amendments. However, Jubilee leaders have maintained that there would be no any political talks with the opposition. (The Standard)

-- Kenya's judiciary decried the high number of poor people who are arrested and jailed compared to rich offenders. Chief Justice David Maraga said most of the poor offenders find themselves in trouble for minor offences. (Daily Nation)
