HONG KONG, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 565.88 points, or 1.81 percent, to 31,904.75 points on Tuesday, hitting a record closing high.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 31,423.62 and 31,904.75. Turnover totaled 164.60 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 21.04 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
