French shares drop 0.13 pct on Thursday

PARIS, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.13 percent, or 7.37 points, to close at 5,509.69 points.

A total of 25 of the 40 selected large companies lost in the day.

French luxury goods holding company Kering tumbled 1.33 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French automotive supplier Valeo was down 1.13 percent. STMicroelectronics, a French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer, edged down 0.95 percent.

French multinational mass media conglomerate Vivendi advanced 2.69 percent, the top gainer of the day. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe gained 2.39 percent. The international telecommunication company Bouygues was up 1.21 percent. Enditem
