CHENGDU, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Austria plans to open a consulate general in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, authorities said Monday.

It will be Austria's third consular mission in China, after an embassy in Beijing and a consulate general in Shanghai.

The jurisdiction of the new consulate general will include Sichuan and neighboring Guizhou, Yunnan provinces and Chongqing Municipality.

Trade volume between China and Austria reached 4.53 billion U.S. dollars from January to July of 2017, an increase of 7.8 percent year on year. Enditem
