LIMA -- A 7.3-magnitude quake which struck Peru Sunday morning has killed two people, while the country's health minister said 17 people went missing after a mine collapsed following the quake.
The quake hit offshore at 4:18 a.m. local time (0918 GMT) at a depth of around 36 km, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Peru's Civil Defense Institute said on Twitter that 65 people were injured.(Peru-Quake)

MAIDAN SHAHR, Afghanistan -- Two Taliban senior commanders are among the 10 militants killed in the eastern Wardak province on Sunday, spokesman for provincial government Abdul Rahman Mangal said.
"Acting on a tipoff, the security forces stormed a Taliban hideout in Sayed Abad district early today morning, killing 10 rebels including notorious commanders Qari Najibullah alias Rahbar and Mawlawi Waris alias Abas on the spot," Mangal told Xinhua.(Afghanistan-Taliban-Killed)

MANILA -- Philippine authorities have ordered more than 900 families to evacuate as Mayon volcano continues to spew ash on Sunday.
Romina Marasigan, the spokesperson of the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), said on Sunday that 919 families have been so far subjected to "mandatory evacuation" by local officials due to the "abnormal activities" of the volcano.(Philippines-Volcano-Evacuation)

ADEN, Yemen -- Forces loyal to Yemen's internationally-backed government killed about 35 Houthi militants in the ongoing fighting in the central province of al-Bayda on Sunday, a military official told Xinhua.

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia -- The number of people poisoned in a cafe in the Republic of Buryatia in Russia's eastern Siberia region rose to 133, the press service of local authorities said Sunday.
