Team Europe comes up from behind to claim Eurasia Cup

Xinhua,January 14, 2018 Adjust font size:

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Team Europe overcame a one-point deficit to claim the Eurasia Cup on Sunday with convincing play by its golfers in one-on-one matches.

Team Asia failed to maintain its momentum on Sunday after leading its European opponents in the first two days of four-ball and foursomes format, respectively, with only three golfers secured victories for their team.

Yuta Ikeda from Japan and China's Li Haotong won the last two match-ups but couldn't turn the tide as Team Europe won the trophy with a final score of 14-10.

Despite the defeat, Officials from Team Asia remain satisfied with the performance for their youngsters.

"I'm very proud of the boys, especially having led the Eurasia Cup for the first two days, and the future seems very bright for Team Asia," said Zhang Lianwei, vice captain of Team Asia. Endtiem
