BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Mass organizations should reform themselves and better serve the public, senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wang Huning said here Saturday.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting attended by leaders of five mass organizations, namely the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League Central Committee, All-China Women's Federation, China Association for Science and Technology, and All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

He urged the mass organizations to study and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Mass organizations must follow the leadership of the Party and mobilize its members in the efforts to prevent and defuse major risks, reduce poverty, and prevent and control pollution, three major challenges facing the country, he said. Enditem
