Dollar stays in lower 111 yen zone ahead of U.S. inflation data

TOKYO, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar hovered in the lower 111 yen zone Friday in Tokyo as market players waited for the U.S. inflation data due out later in the day.

At 5:00 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 111.36-38 yen compared with 111.20-30 yen in New York and 111.78-79 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 111.07 yen and 111.40 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2062-2063 dollars and 134.33-37 yen against 1.2027-2037 dollars and 133.82-92 yen in New York and 1.1938-1939 dollars and 133.45-49 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon. Enditem
