Dollar changes hands in lower 111 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 111 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely unchanged from its levels overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.29-30 yen compared with 111.20-30 yen in New York and 111.78-79 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2042-2042 dollars and 134.02-03 yen against 1.2027-2037 dollars and 133.82-92 yen in New York and 1.1938-1939 dollars and 133.45-49 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
