ISLAMABAD -- At least two people were killed and three others injured in police aerial firing as protests turned violent against the rape and murder of a minor girl in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab on Wednesday, local media reported.
According to the reports, a large number of protesters carrying sticks in their hands have gathered outside the deputy commissioner office, demanding justice for the seven-year-old girl. They pelted stones at the office. Police fired bullets in the air to disperse the protesters. (Pakistan-Protest-Violence)

ADEN, Yemen -- About three soldiers of the newly-recruited Yemeni troops were killed Wednesday when a booby-trapped car hit a military convoy in the southeastern province of Shabwa, a security official told Xinhua.
"The troops were targeted by a terrorist attack with a booby-trapped car that killed three soldiers and injured a number of others in the entrance of Saeed district of Shabwa province," the local security source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Terrorist Attack)

KABUL -- Up to 14 insurgents were killed and eight others injured since Afghan security forces launched an operation in Paktia province, east of Afghanistan on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.
"Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) has carried out a clearance operation in Zurmat district in Paktia, killing 14 armed militants and injuring eight others," the ministry said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Militants)

BAGHDAD -- The U.S. ambassador to Iraq Wednesday said that there would be a new decrease of U.S. troops in Iraq in the upcoming months.
