British stocks down 0.36 pct Monday

LONDON, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 27.71 points or 0.36 percent at 7,696.51 points.

G4S, a British multinational security services company, soared 4.03 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Tesco and Mediclinic International increased by 2.19 percent and 1.98 percent respectively.

The British software and information technology business Micro Focus International was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 16.92 percent. Shire, the global specialty biopharmaceutical company, dropped 5.43 percent. 3i Group, a British private equity and venture capital company, dropped 2.50 percent. Enditem
