Car-train collision kills 2, injures 3 in northeast China

HARBIN, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- A freight train collided on Sunday with a vehicle in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, leaving two people dead and three injured, local authorities said Monday.

The accident occurred at 8 p.m. on Sunday at a level crossing in Acheng district of Harbin, according to the local government.

Rescuers rushed to the site immediately and the injured were taken to hospital. Investigation is still under way. Enditem
