BiH major airport handles record number of passengers

Xinhua,January 07, 2018 Adjust font size:

SARAJEVO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tuzla International Airport, the second largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina, handled a record number of 535,834 passengers in 2017, the airport said Saturday in a statement.

Tuzla airport is located some 110 km northeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital Sarajevo. The figure represented an increase of 72 percent year on year.

Although two flights to London and Nurnberg were suspended from TZL in 2017, the annual plan was exceeded by 32 percent.

The annual results of cargo traffic were below expectations and only 35 percent of the planned amount was realized.

"The rest of cargo was not achieved because the exporters and importers of products of animal origin decided to do the transport by road," director of TZL Rifet Karasalihovic told local media. Enditem
