YANGON -- China on Saturday handed over to Myanmar authorities about 100 prefabricated houses for displaced persons in Myanmar's western Rakhine state at the Myanmar Industrial Port.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang pledged to continue China's assistance to the conflict-displaced people in the region. (Myanmar-China-Donation)

SEOUL -- South Korea's unification ministry said Saturday that it has sent the list of a five-member delegation to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DRPK) through the restored hotline for next week's inter-Korean high-level talks.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least four policemen were killed and two others wounded Saturday after militants triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The IED blast targeted the policemen in Sopore town of Baramulla district, about 50 km northwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Blast-Casualties)

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistani foreign ministry said here Friday that the country fights the war against terrorism on its own resources, apparently in a reaction to the security aid suspension announced by the United States.

Washington announced on Thursday that it is suspending the transfer of military equipment and security-related funds to Pakistan, according to the State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert. (Pakistan-U.S.-Anti-Terrorism) Enditem
