Indian markets open higher

MUMBAI, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets opened higher Friday.

Equity benchmarks extended gains in morning on last day of the week, tracking positive global cues. Banking, financials and metals stocks continued to gain.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened at 34,072.28, 102.64 points or 0.34 percent up compared to its previous close at 33,969.64. Enditem
