Angolan leader congratulates Weah as new President of Liberia

LUANDA, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Angolan President Joao Lourenco on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected president of the Republic of Liberia, George Weah.

A note from the Angolan Presidency distributed to the press in Luanda, said that the election of George Weah will certainly contribute to the stability as well as economic and social development of Liberia.

In the message to Weah, Angolan president also vowed to strengthen the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states. Enditem
