Xi congratulates Weah on being elected president of Liberia

BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to George Weah on his election as president of Liberia.

In his message, Xi said that he highly values the development of the relationship between China and Liberia.

He added that he is willing to work with President Weah to continue pushing forward the in-depth development of the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries based on mutual respect, sincere friendship and equal treatment, so as to better benefit the two countries and two peoples.
