ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Thursday.

--The Ethiopian Peoples' Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) will strive to compensate the public grievances by taking practical measures, chairpersons of the four national member organizations of EPRDF said. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

--The chairpersons of EPRDF member parties gave a joint press briefing on Wednesday.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has announced plans to drop charges against some political party members and to release them from prison. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

--The electrical and mechanical works, which could allow Genale Dawa-III hydropower project to generate power, have been completed, said the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP).
