NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted Izu Islands, Japan region at 21:30:22 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 29.6049 degrees north latitude and 140.6178 degrees east longitude. Enditem
