"Multiple deputies down" in shootout near Denver

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- "Multiple deputies" were injured and their status is unknown after a shootout south of Denver early Sunday morning, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the Copper Canyon Apartments for a domestic disturbance this morning. "During the Investigation, shots were fired and multiple deputies were injured. No status on the deputies and no status on civilian injuries," the Douglas County Sheriff's Office tweeted.

Meghan Lopez, a reporter for KMGH-TV, said she heard gunshots when her crew pulled up to the scene.
