Singaporean stocks close 0.22 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed up 0.22 percent or 7.43 points to close at 3399.1.

A total of 1.16 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 664.4 million Singapore dollars (about 496.71 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 265 to 136.

The STI index closed up 0.4 percent or 13.51 points to close at 3391.67 on Wednesday. Enditem
